Beauty Edit No. 4 | Favorite June Beauty Products

June Favorites | Thetique Style Blog

From left to right, top to bottom:

  1. Brazilian Bum Bum Cream: I picked this up on a whim after I saw it beautifully displayed at Sephora. It had wonderful reviews and smelled like what I imagine heaven to smell like (warm, sugary, coconut goodness.) I’m not quite sure if the claims it makes about firming your bum are true, as I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks. However, I will say this: I have been using it as my all-in-one moisturizer every. single. day. The smell and the slight shimmer alone are worth every penny in my opinion!
  2. Hourglass Mineral Veil PrimerI’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this in a Beauty Edit before, but it’s worth mentioning again if I have. I understand this product is a bit pricey, but honestly it’s the only primer I’ve ever used that actually keeps my makeup lasting almost the entire day! I don’t know what they put in it, but it’s a miracle worker!
  3. Ouai Wave Spray: I love following celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin on all social media channels! Her tutorials are the best. And when I heard that she was creating her own product line, I knew I had to try it. The Wave Spray is essential for prepping your hair for flat-iron waves and it smells amazing! I like her texturizing hair spray as well, but not any more than I love my Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. So alas! I present you with the Wave Spray.
  4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipgloss in “Gilded”: I used to be quite the lipstick junkie, never really one for lip gloss. Something about it always turned me away. However, this month I had a change of heart and have been trying tons of new lip gloss formulations. Gilded by Anastasia Beverly Hills stuck out in particular because it is like no color I have ever seen. Slightly metallic, but also warm with just the right amount of shimmer. This is the perfect summer shade on its own or on top of your favorite nude lipstick.
  5. Santalum Slivers by Kerosene: If you’re ever in Nashville, you definitely have to stop by White’s Mercantile. It’s filled with the best artisan products (jewelry, home decor, art and so much more) and because a good friend of mine works there, I’m always popping in to see what new things they’ve received. This perfume was a bit of an impulse buy, but worth every penny. It’s filled with delicious, but unique vetiver and sandalwood notes and also has a hint of citrus to make it the perfect fragrance for the summer time.
  6. French Girl Organics Sea Polish: This is another one of those products that I scored from White’s Mercantile (Thanks, Gracie!) And if you know me, you know that I love a good exfoliator. This one, however, is everything. Its minty smell invigorates you in the shower, while the crystals give you a nice deep exfoliation. But don’t worry! It also has a nice oil base so it keeps you moisturized hours after you get out of the shower!
  7. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder: I think Claire Marshall described this highlighter best when she said that it’s the perfect soft-focus highlight. I love that it’s not too glittery or bold, so no matter how much you apply, you always look like you’re glowing from within. And who doesn’t want that?

My Everyday Uniform, Wearing 3×1

I think it’s safe to say that each person has an everyday uniform. And by that, I don’t mean articles of clothing that you have to wear to work or school. To me, an everyday uniform is a look that contains certain elements you could wear every day – something that overall makes you feel cool and confident.

For me, my everyday uniform looks something this: blue jeans in the perfect wash, neutrals, and just enough detailing (whether it’s in my clothes, shoes, or jewelry) that makes me feel feminine and put together. Though I wouldn’t wear this outfit every single day (because let’s face it: there are just way too many looks to try!) it is something that contains all of the elements to make me feel most like myself! So tell me: what does your everyday uniform consist?

Festival Style, Wearing American Threads

I don’t know about you, but I love a good festival. I’ve only ever been to a few, but every time I go, I have the most incredible time. The music, the people, the food. It’s all just one huge, unforgettable experience.

If you’re headed to any festivals this season, you’ll definitely want to check out American Threads. We just received a storefront here in Nashville and it’s safe to say that I’m addicted. The theme throughout the store is definitely that desert-vibe that’s popular right now, but the prices make it super approachable and affordable. What festivals are you getting excited for this year and where are you turning to achieve your ideal festival style?

Summer Layers, Wearing Madewell

Dressing for the summertime can be tricky. In Nashville, it can be upwards of 90 degrees during the day (often higher), then break into a brisk 75 as the sun begins to set. Not to mention the fact that every store and establishment you enter accommodates for the heat with their AC set to high. I don’t know about you, but for me, that means being prepared for just about anything. That’s where summer layers come in.

I love light sweaters like this one from Madewell to throw over tanks and dresses.  They’re easy to throw on and off and can add a bit of texture to your look. And if you’re like me and always cold, try tying a denim jacket or second sweater around your waist. Your outfit will instantly be transformed into something cool and casual and you’ll be prepared if it gets too chilly. Do you guys have any other tricks for dressing in the summertime?

As a young independent creative, I love seeing other freelancers and creators of all types do new and innovative things. Not only is it incredibly inspirational, but it also always gives me that little push to reach for greater heights.

Nashville is filled with creative types. At times it can be overwhelming, but most of the time it’s just awesome. It’s as if there’s something thick in the air and you can feel it when you inhale. Everyone just wants to create, and not only create, but create some pretty stellar things.

That said, one creative here in town, Amelia or Amelia Styles, decided to do things a bit differently in the blogging community. She opened an online shop as an extension of her blog. Pretty brilliant if ask me! She curates beautiful pieces and sells them at an incredibly affordable price. I was lucky enough to scoop up this super cute top along with a striped jumpsuit that I’m absolutely in love with! If you get a chance, you should definitely give her site a look. I’m sure you’ll find something you adore.
