Though we may be headed for cooler temps (and PTL for that!) one look that I can’t seem to shake is the off-the-shoulder trend. I’ve always been a fan of tastefully showing a bit of skin, especially when it comes to modest body parts like your décolleté and shoulders. I like to think that it adds just the right amount of “sexy” without being too forward or obvious.
For the off-the-shoulder trend specifically, I’m a big fan of both dresses and tops. Either can be dressed up or down and add just the right amount of elegance to any outfit. Another aspect that I love about anything off-the-shoulder is that you can buy these types of items online and trust that they’ll fit the way they’re supposed to. That said, if you’re looking for great online resources for off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, I’d start with Nordstrom, Revolve, and Shopbop. Each site offers a wide selection of items from a number of different brands at a range of different price points.
If you’re looking for something incredibly affordable, I’d also take a look at Chicwish. Like the other resources mentioned, this site also offers a wide variety of off-the-shoulder-tops and dresses. The even better aspect about Chicwish, however, is that it’s a great resource if you want to dip your toes in the trend, but aren’t quite sure if you’re fully ready to bear it all (your shoulders, I mean.) You can scoop up some great pieces and it won’t burn a hole through your bank account.
I personally love to experiment with this trend. Sometimes I’ll add a choker and boots to make the look a bit edgier. Other times, I’ll wear more delicate jewelry and a nice pair of heels or sandals to play up my femininity. That’s the beauty of off-the-shoulder though: it’s so incredibly versatile!
